Starting at the beginning of November 2020, studies and teaching in the winter semester 2020 will be conducted digitally until further notice. Classroom-based courses are held for students in their first semester and students of university medicine. Classroom courses are held when special laboratory or work rooms are required or when the teaching and learning goals cannot be achieved in digital formats.
Some colleagues work at their workplace at the university, many are mobile and work from home. Most buildings are open to students and employees of the University of Rostock. The buildings are closed for visitors. All persons in the buildings of the University of Rostock are generally obliged to wear a mouth-nose cover. All regulations in detail can be found here on the website "CORONA Sonderinformationen".

This applies in particular to the UR:
Official activities are to be carried out by the scientific staff preferably in the home office. The non-scientific employees should work at their workplace in the UR. There is no entitlement to work in the home office. The current regulations are explained in more detail under CORONA special information > personnel > regulations concerning the place of work.
The buildings of the UR are closed for students and visitors. The buildings are only open to employees of the UR with access authorization. Access authorization is regulated individually for each building by the head of the institution.
Offices, consultation rooms, tea kitchens etc. should only be used by one person at a time. Please wear a mouth-nose cover to protect yourself and others. The applicable regulations are explained in more detail under CORONA Special Information > Facility Management > Regulations concerning residence in buildings.
The UB is currently open for members of the UR. The current regulations are explained in more detail under CORONA Special Information > Studies and Digital Teaching > University Library.
Operations in laboratories and special rooms are only permitted if the regulations on distances are observed and work safety is guaranteed at the same time. The regulations are explained in more detail under CORONA Special Information > Research > Regulations for laboratory operation.
Due to current regulations, events in presence are to be reduced to the absolute minimum. Only events in attendance that serve to maintain the university's teaching, research and administrative operations are allowed to be carried out under the relevant regulations.
In order to enable members of the university in times of Corona to hold events in presence indoors and outdoors (except for courses), a framework for action is now available.
The applicable regulations are explained in more detail under CORONA Special Information > Basic Information > Framework for the organisation of presence events (excluding for courses).
Events for internal organization (e.g. committees, work consultations, etc.) as well as events with external persons (e.g. project meetings with external contractors, further education with external participants or lecturers) are permitted, if the rules of distance are observed and occupational safety is guaranteed at the same time.
For this purpose, the maximum room occupancy rate is shown in the LSF. Under CORONA Special Information > Building Management > Regulations on the use of rooms you will find further information on room occupancy and a sample seating plan.
