We are pleased to inform you about the launch of the first call for thesis topics as part of the MSCA COFUND (Horizon Europe) project “EU-DOCS for SmUCS,” led by La Rochelle Université. This prestigious program, co-financed by ExcelLR and EU-CONEXUS Plus, will recruit 17 PhD students over a 5-year period, with the aim of training researchers in Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability (SmUCS).

Key details of the program:
• Cotutelles thesis: PhD students will be enrolled in both La Rochelle Université and an EU-CONEXUS or international partner university, benefiting from joint supervision and obtaining a double doctoral degree.
• Excellence and interdisciplinarity: The program will recruit 17 doctoral students across two calls (2025 and 2026) and offers a 3-month secondment to a non-academic partner.
• Transversal skills training: Students will have access to a comprehensive training program based on European doctoral training principles.
