Business trips abroad

In general, business trips abroad are prohibited until further notice. This applies in particular to business trips to foreign risk areas. Risk areas are areas designated as such by the Federal Foreign Office, the Federal Ministry of Health and the Federal Ministry of the Interior. The Rector may decide on exemptions for business trips abroad in individual cases. The situation assessments of the Robert Koch Institute are taken into account, particularly with regard to risk areas with an increased risk of infection.

Business trips for further education and training

In the current situation, further training and education are not considered necessary. For an examination of the individual case, please contact the travel cost centre by e-mail to travelmanageruni-rostockde.

IMPORTANT: Currently, the infection situation is changing dynamically and infection rates in Germany are rising. Business trips to a risk area (>50 infections per 100,000 inhabitants) should be avoided. Find out immediately before you start a business trip whether your destination has been classified as a risk area. Information on this can be found on the websites of the public health department and RKI (Germany).

Business trips within Germany

Business trips to particularly affected areas outside the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are generally prohibited. Particularly affected areas in Germany are areas where the incidence rate of the last seven days is > 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. he current incidence values are available in the COVID 19 management reports and the dashboard of the RKI (RKI Inland). Furthermore, you may also find data on the corona pandemic on the website of the Health Department.

For business trips within the federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania a strict standard must be applied to the permit. These trips are only to be approved if they are indispensable and necessary for maintaining the functionality of the state administration or for carrying out the essential tasks of the respective authority. As far as possible, technical alternatives to business trips, such as telephone or video conferences, should be used. If attendance events are necessary, the generally known AHA rules (distance, hygiene, masks for everyday use, ventilation) have to be observed.

Business trips in Germany have to be reduced to the absolutely necessary extent. Exceptions for trips to non-risk areas are possible and shall be approved by the supervisor after examination of the individual case. In accordance with the legal basis, approval is only granted if an urgently required business transaction cannot be handled in any other way and direct contact with other persons is not possible. Priority and necessity of the service business must be informally justified by the employee and approved by the line manager.
