The persons attending an event are recommended to register their stay in the respective event room in the Corona Warn App (CWA) of the Robert Koch Institute via the QR code available on site. The QR codes can be found in the entrance areas of the lecture hall/seminar room in each case.

Should a participant have tested positive, he/she should share the result via the app and thus warn others about a possible risk encounter. This warning will be anonymous.

Status: 23.03.2022

Corona-Warn-App red: What to do?

An increased risk is shown in red. This means that you have encountered someone who has tested positive for coronavirus in the past 14 days. This encounter lasted longer than ten minutes or occurred at a close distance (less than about eight meters).

The Corona Warning app does not distinguish between vaccinated, unvaccinated, and recovered individuals. A red warning does not automatically mean you have contracted Covid-19.

Please follow the recommendations in the app about what to do when you receive a warning. These include:

  • Pay attention to symptoms of illness. If these are present, please contact your family doctor by telephone.
  • Observe the applicable hygiene rules.
  • Reduce your contacts.

The red warning disappears automatically after 14 days. Visit the federal government's website for more information on how to handle a warning.

You are not required to inform your employer of risk encounters or increased risk. It is only mandatory to inform your employer if you test positive for PCR. Information on this can be found in the service portal under CORONA Sonderinformation > Basic Information > Standard procedures for dealing with Covid-19 infections incl. reporting form.
